"It Templario" is very different from the opera better known Nicolai "The Merry Wives of Windsor." This owed much to Mozart and especially in my opinion Weber. "It Templario" falls within the period following the decline of Italian bel canto. It is very similar with the almost contemporary works of Pacini and Mercadante. Those who loved operas of these composers in recent years will not be able to love "It Templario", especially since the distribution is fairly good and the sound of a good quality, which is rare in the case of little-known operas.
