A good game, but a double-edged sword

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Vegas (computer game)

Customer Review

I can understand the negative reviews of Ubisoft's latest Clancy implementation only to a certain degree. But first things first. To be fair, I mention right away that I'm first, multiplayer haters and only can judge the single player mode of the game and secondly before consuming the older (and tactically undoubtedly far more substantial) have played Ravenshield this game. So I try now in retrospect a fair review deliver.

First of all: For me personally R6V very good, though far from being a perfect game. Looking at it completely detached from Ravenshield and comparable classics present series, then the Game cuts just a tad bit better.

Yes, it is true: The tactical depth has decreased compared to RS (considerable, to be exact), but we should also be fair to admit that he has in turn increased compared to the direct predecessor lockdown. ;) And sometimes quite seriously: from dull, senseless Plink can here not really be any question, even though Vegas is but failed really arcade excessive.

However, the abolition of the planning phase is unlikely to come across ONLY negative resonances with the people. Personally, I love planning and quiet approach, but there are plenty of people who just need a little leichtköstigere planning, and I myself come with the new system the most marvelous manner. Interim conclusion: Tactically and clear of feeling ago no comparison with Ravenshield, but nonetheless, a great game.

But now times in detail:

Music:
The background music in the game is good, if they would not win Oscar. Beautiful atmospheric, subtle and never put on acting, often (especially in the area of Asian restaurants) easily Far Eastern-inspired instrumentation and also otherwise everything fits. Only the same music often in combat sometimes stresses me something.

Sound:
Everything good at everything. MY OPINION, good voice actors, beautiful realistic weapon and shot noise, credible environment sounds (especially in the casino striking etc.) deductions in the B-Note gibtŽs for partly ridiculous moaning of Prota- and antagonists in gunshot wounds, that's disgusting than any fourth-rate porn without shit. All in all, nothing to defects.

Graphics:
The point that can convince most likely without any deductions. Some people said the time of publication, that the graphics though would be good, but not overly so. When I read something, I seriously wonder whether these people might have played another game, or we write now 2010.
Seriously: Ultra Realistic animations, vibrant colors, class flair, gorgeous scenes, explosions class - it was ideal.

Atmosphaere:
Credible and authentic. Beautiful and flashy. Elegant and - most importantly - a still fairly unused & fresh scenario.

Story:
The story itself is OK, but not necessarily before bursting depth and as the name Tom Clancy should have hereby emulate something to me is a complete mystery. Either saith the marketing name rather only on the weapon selection (Which is really great) or serves as a now patented quasi Ubisoft buying leverage. ^^
All in all, good average, but enough substance to advance the game.

Draught, tactics etc .:
Well the most interesting point:
A certain playful and tactical depth is still present, albeit no longer as before. What I found the only real obstacle in person, was that I can not command my two team-mates individually, but only a lump sum. Also: Why can not the two blockheads to instruct to use grenades sometimes without the presence of a door? Why hear my gun opponents almost always despite silencer?

Personally, I find that the enemies are intelligent well, only in Terrorist Hunt mode they come partially out of nowhere and are thus placed extremely unfair. So ordenlicher deduction.

Another minor drawback is certainly the unfortunately somewhat tubular linearity of the levels. While there is almost always 2 or 3 different ways in a space, but these are then arranged as in a game of dominoes in a row. That's not bad, but slows down the spirit of discovery and takes the game any innovation.

Say: Tactically still quite challenging, but not a piece of innovative, hardly changes (Gameplay is not earth-shattering new), sometimes slightly faulty AI team members and something linear, otherwise this point also a still relatively big plus for the gameplay, and the great coverage mode. Only the unrealistically high number opponents is also worth mentioning, but I personally do not light up at all so why - should be a point of criticism - as in my Vorrezensenten.

In itself, the game is quite difficult, but mentioned with exploiting coverage mode and a bissel Kniffelei the game but at least in the normal difficulty setting to anyone who intensively deals, feasible, albeit with - yes, heard right! * G * - tactics. Realistically was for me personally unschaffbar, although I think I can call myself a reasonably good player tactics. Is probably only absolute Cracks what.

A huge deficiency here is the lack of storage system with the stupid checkpoints that are sometimes just put only sadistic unfair. (Exactly as before or more madness-fighting)

The controller is initially extremely unusual, but can be mastered quickly.

CONCLUSION:

Who on for hours making plans is good made action with a certain tactical claim and not before accessing or R6 accepted with less Planerei who is at the right place, the expected a great, atmospheric game, which unfortunately ultimately missing the last bit of depth.

For tactics fetishists of the highest degree not recommended.
