For album Privateering itself:
Most of the negative voices I can not understand. I accept and enjoy Knopfler's freedom to play what he wants and not what others expect. And the results are plain to see !!!! In fact, the double CD as a whole is very quiet, but not boring !!! I also love it when the old Scot electricity anschmeißt to the electric guitar to zupfen.Aber reach me as its quieter songs, if not more Understand !! I can but that the Blues pieces are quite similar and so are a bit boring. Especially "Do not Forget Your Head" is strongly reminiscent of "You Can not Beat the House". So little less Blues had the complete works may have done a little better. But the title track "Privateering" makes this Mini shortcoming quickly forgotten, because these stamps right in the middle so powerful that it literally the old sailing ship has on the stormy ocean in mind and you almost feel like the waves of the rough sea break !!! And also "Redbud Tree" and "Dream of the Drowned Submariner" belong to me one of the highlights, as well as the good mood song "Corned Beef City" with rockigerem Gitarrensound.Das are my personal highlights what in no way means that the album these reduce sollte.Er is a grand master of music and created pieces always at the highest level. And very remarkable is once again the sound quality, you will not find in many plates of other artists.
What bothers me from sale for political reasons, is that on the Limited Edition 5 live songs can be found on CD3 and in this variant "only" 3 more new studio recordings. I would have liked that thus 8 songs would have appeared on CD3 at least on the Limited Super Deluxe Edition and both. So you might pockert so that buy "Die Hard fans" both versions. That's my biggest gripe.
Conclusion: I have made the right choice for me and the box was worth indeed and I'm looking forward now to experience it on the next tour, the new material live.
Thanks Mark Knopfler for this work of art !!!!
