The plastic feels valent to the locking ring and the flash foot, I do not feel personally as fiddly and the hinge to tilt the flash snaps still a bombproof. The flip-down diffuser does its service more than adequate. Guide number 20 is sufficient in most situations in which you interact with such cameras also perfect.
So why "only" 4 points? First of all, because you can not assign half points, since I would have done 4 1/2 points loose. Furthermore, there is just in my mind two or three minor points, which are not worthy to be tragic, but which nevertheless are missing to a maximum score.
1.) the decor is a bit spartan! A small cloth bag, which protects the flash and in which you can transport it would have been nice
2.) a rotary joint does not exist! The flash can be tilted only. Sufficient in most cases on the X100, in the "more professional" work with the X-Pro 1 was a pivot great to still clean sparkle even in portrait mode indirectly upwards can
3) the camera Ballance is not optimal on the X-system! Well, originally the flash was designed even for the bridge system of Fuji, and really there for the X system the EF-X20, but I want to have mentioned it. With the attached EF-20 tend both the X100, as well as the X-Pro 1 to forward to tilt away. No real problem, and certainly none of the technology per se!
4) automatic power would be nice! I do not know whether this is due to the firmware of the camera or on the flash, but it would just be nice if the flash in an attached state itself turns on when the camera requests a flash. Even he does turn up, too, as soon as the camera is out of ...
At the end it should be said out of competition, the flash can be used without problems as a master fuse for slave systems against lightning detection ...
Conclusion: for something Roundabout 80 euros you get here a qualitatively very good, very compact and envisaged for the purpose more than adequately sized flash, which has only some tiny detail "errors", but which probably only bean counters should like me stand out negative .. ,
