I only knew the most famous pieces (eg Stairway to heaven) and came across the best of "MOTHERSHIP" encountered. This I then heard up and down and wanted to finally hear through the albums to the "hits" of the best of understanding in the context of individual works may once.
That has really paid off and you can (partly) describe the albums as musical outpouring of authentic genius. Of course, they are much shorter than is customary on today's CD-released albums, but the length of almost 40 minutes is for example in the case of Houses of the Holy perfectly ausgenutz to leave a lasting impression; You could say that today's comparable nice to listening albums (if you can ever compare) in addition to a small number of good songs include many stopgap. This in my opinion is not the case here. All eight tracks are worth listening to, if of course also some particularly stand out.
The album sounds bombastic: an almost It skin when fully turned up on the controller and then take the bass like a clenched fist, while, most importantly, distort the higher tones and NOT or unpleasant droning in your ears.
No comparison to many other remastered classics or even recent works in which the bass is often extremely dominant, and then sound the higher tones and unbearable. (Do not misunderstand, the basses are not dominant in this Zep-plate. They do exactly what they should do)
When I listen to pieces of Houses of the Holy in the 2007 Best of "Mothership" (eg Dyer Maker or The Song Remains Teh Same), so this 2014 Remastersound represents enormous progress (or indeed a throwback to earlier quality> So before the 2007 remaster or other 90s remasters). Also: I have an old record "Houses of the Holy" (not in the best condition was said to) of relatives compared with this 2014 vinyl version and find that the new this old sound feeling corresponds absolutely (just not cut out to the rear scissors dynamics ) and beyond the details better reflects. Apparently, it is partly a bit loud. > It was so apparently digitally altered slightly when 2014er remastering, but I feel it is improving.
> The questions that occurred to me, are the whether these unusually good sound comes from the fact that it is vinyl (and a decent mastering for this vinyl) or whether other media (HIG Freq download or CD) of the 2014er as Remasters good sound and 2. whether there are older vinyl versions that sound better than this (for me to compare available was just very old and has a lot of play)
As neuhörer the band to me is also the question of what is going on with this cover up. It seems something borderline or overshot. On the Internet may be found that there had to be censored in the US bsp.weise.
