We are in a world turned upside down, divided into several districts, riches are themselves scattered and the last districts (twelve being the last) are burdened by poverty, hunger, hard work and deprivation of liberty. There is a mighty Capitol which lays down rules of crazy, each district is required to eat in their hands, besides the product of their work is dedicated to this great government. In the twelve district, Katniss struggles to support his family, his mother made lethargic since the death of her husband (minor in coal pits) and sister of twelve, Prim. Katniss and her best friend Gale are poaching, exchange their hunting and are doing so in order not to starve. Each year, however grave the Harvest. It is still a fad of the Capitol, a formidable test established to better enslave all districts. A draw determines a boy and a girl at least twelve years to represent his district and go to an arena where a game takes place filmed live for broadcast on all television channels, with the obligation to look. This game is a fight for life and death. The twenty-four candidates have to face, being let loose in an unfamiliar environment, and survive by killing each one after the other. These are the Hunger Games. The Hunger Games. The Harvest is a big event, with all the trimmings a ceremony with great fanfare, cameras are everywhere, greed Capitol gives chills. So the story of this novel is that Katniss's little sister is designated to represent the District Twelve, it's only a girl of twelve years and older (which is sixteen) decides to perform the first act of rebellion.
I will not reveal more, just that it is a stunning novel, it is impossible to rest. The story may seem harsh, yet this sacrifice staged also denounces a voyeuristic moved most of totalitarianism that crushes people. The plot, then, is rich and exciting, in addition to being complex, overwhelming, vibrant and sexy (between Gale and Peeta, my heart balance). I'm totally a fan of this kind of reading! The characters are all very beautiful and endearing, their beautiful and terrible story, the symbol of courage, dedication and absolutism.
