Five volumes of Elves are planned. 'The crystal blue elves' is the first of them. Each volume is independent of the others and tells a complete story. Cartoonist and writer also change each time. What unites the different stories: they all take place in the same world that is gaining consistency as and playback. This first volume is a real success. We follow a very controlled alternating building the adventures of a duo of investigators (an elf, a man) wanted to shed light on the massacre of a blue elf community, while one of them the mysterious Vaalan, seeks to find the blue crystal that controls the ocean ... The history (JL Istin) is served by a drawing (Duarte) very convincing, willingly spectacular, proposed in a dynamic layout and always varied. The colors (Saito), dominated by blues and greens of this aquatic world essentially, are also very attractive. A great discovery!
