I expected this album with some curiosity and I was not expecting me to make it such a masterpiece. Most of the songs are worthy of the best Dead Can Dance, as for the others, we discover a Brendan Perry that we did not know and that surprises us pleasantly. The last 2 songs of the album are fantastic. "The devil and the deep blue sea" frankly evokes "Nite flights" Scott walker and can be even more, by the atmosphere and arrangements, the recovery that made Bowie in 1993. The vocal melody is however radically different and Brendan's voice is more beautiful than ever. We regret even more that unjust 10-year absence. As for "Crescent", which clot the album, maybe this is the most beautiful song ever written by him. She was already at the DCD's farewell tour program in 2005 and is found here more beautiful. I had not really attached to his first solo album in 1999, but with this one, I'm thrilled beyond my expectations. The music press has ignored this album superbly but do not miss out on, please, it is essential to Dead Can Dance fans of course but also for lovers of the great voices
