The unit comes in a big box-box, with many accessories: a "real" manual in French, 5 brushes, charger with storage box for 4 brushes, a storage bag, a very large travel box, and finally a display with attachable bracket to the wall that communicates in real time with the brush using radio waves, accompanied by 4 batteries including 2 already installed.
Side finish is the travel box that imposes the most ... This unfortunately does not incorporate any charging system. The electric brush and charger are of decent quality, but do not really "high end" and suffer the comparison with my current brush, whose body is made of one piece (and not a patchwork plastics and rubbers of different types and colors), no clean, modern design. It's a small disappointment. Moreover, I find the brush too large, a little heavy (at least half heavier than my current brush), and despite its non-slip coating, it holds less charge than expected, especially when you have wet hands ( which inevitably happens, see below.) It is of course completely waterproof and can be recharged by induction.
The battery is a NiMH then found Li-ion most successful elsewhere. Recharge time is particularly long, but you can safely leave the charger plugged permanently, the manufacturer claims.
5 brushes with 2 "Trizone" are provided. Too bad, all types (standard, white, sensitive teeth ... and other times difficult to grasp differences) are not provided and no indication is given on programs tailored to each brush
In use, the device proves quite noisy with unpleasant sound (like old electric mower.) Side brushes, it's supposed to be ultra efficient Trizone on dental plaque, which is highlighted by Braun. Unfortunately, it is massive and too short, not practical; with a brush head close to a manual brush, do not expect precision work, yet one of the big interest of an electric brush. If one wants to reach every corner for a careful brushing, one quickly puts everywhere toothpaste and was it hard to stick to the allotted 2 minutes of the standard mode (thankfully there was a program 3 minutes ...) So, forbidden to leave the bathroom counter, while they quickly find their hands full of saliva and toothpaste ... A thorough cleaning is required after each use. Ergonomics is perfectible and should certainly finer and longer brush. The brush "Trizone" are not content with a cleaning microvibrations, this is added a mechanical cleaning, which unfortunately seems against-productive, purveyor of annoying and ineffective additional vibrations. Funny idea of reinstating obsolete technology inherited from the first electric brushes ...
In short, it is better to settle for other types of brushes. The result is excellent, but I still have a preference for my current electric brush (in any case, is much higher than what you get with manual brushing.) Good news, the price of spare brushes is much more reasonable than at Philips (caution against by avoiding copies of uncertain quality, it is probably a false economy.)
A very good idea to also report: the light signal indicating that pressing too hard.
The remote display shows various information: elapsed time with the division of 2 minutes per quarter-brushing program chosen from 6 (the useless half.) When not in use, the box displays the time. All this is fun, but far from essential and the chosen program could very well appear on the brush itself, while the quarters are already indicated by a tactile and audible signal of the brush itself. However, this could be interesting for wayward children brushing (except that the brush is great for young children ...) Personal opinion: I would have preferred that this system is equipped with a mechanical on / off button to save batteries, or coupled to the charging base to avoid using batteries.
Overall this is a good device, remains that the price is too high: both in relation to other Oral B products supplied accessories but least equally effective as compared to competing products higher (autonomy, finish and design , maneuverability, noise ...) that are not more expensive. Trizone the brush, without interest, is particularly disappointing; we will leave aside for simply more convincing circular brushes and the price is very reasonable however.
[Edit December 2013] the rate has dropped significantly (more than € 200 at launch), now is a little more reasonable.
