Those looking for a quiet, beautiful Goldsmith music, will find here only two tracks that go in this direction ("The Mutant" and "A New Life"). The rest is very powerful, loud, aggressive and generally fast-paced. Even if it is available on the CD some repetition, so I prefer a complete presentation. Anyone can indeed program the tracks in CD player that he wants to hear and thus shorten the album while listening. The Main Title by the way very reminiscent of the well-known and respected film music of Basil Poledouris to "Conan the Barbarian" (1982). But this does not detract from the quality of film music. The combination of orchestra (xylophone, piano and lots of percussion) and many electronic elements was so complex composed that the originally envisaged German orchestra in Munich at that time was so overwhelmed. One thus switched to more expensive National Philharmonic Orchestra in London (CBS Studios) had worked with which Jerry Goldsmith already frequent. The result is an absolutely amazing Action Core. You can hear the music, the complexity of the composition of (Highlights: "Clever Girl", "End Of A Dream" - two of the best action-tracks that Goldsmith wrote in his 40 years as a composer). The "Deluxe Edition" is compared to the old version not only with more music (of 42 expanded to 70 minutes!), But also equipped with a very informative booklet. Who buys this CD, should wild, complex action movie music like and have access to science fiction. If this is the case, this CD is a top-purchase, even if the film, as I really do not particularly like!
