The Chicago Stars, Volume 3: The one I chose (Paperback)

Customer Review

At thirty-four, Jane desperate not to have children and decided to remedy that. With the help of a Chicago Groopie stars in search of birthday gift Cal Bonner, she'll impersonate a prostitute with the famous player. The man seems to him to be a light, that is exactly what she is looking for! Thus her child will be "normal" and does not suffer from too much intelligence as herself suffered in his youth and even now.

A completely farfetched story but a real breath of fresh air! Exchanges between Jane and Cal are crispy. Because of course, Cal will eventually learn the truth and it is beyond question that steals his child!

Cal Bonner's a nice person, sexy, macho like all the heroes of September, he refuses to engage with women and with lot of studs, despite its well entammée thirties. However, it is honorable and family is important to him. His football career is almost over, but he refuses to see the end.
Jane is funny. Slightly irritating to the edges because it is convinced of his superior intelligence but we forgive him because she was often alone and shelved because of its difference.

You put the two together and you get an explosive cocktail! Some passages made me laugh to tears!

As usual, the secondary characters are very present. There is another love story in parallel: that of Cal's parents, who are going through a very bad patch. We also met Kevin Tucker, who is eyeing the post of Cal, and that will be the hero of the 5th tome with Molly (little sister Phoebe).
