What particularly stands out already equal: The drum god Dave Lombardo is back again with!
If you put the CD in his player and the band gets going with "Flesh Storm", you will be whistling in the ears well for some time not let go. Slayer knüppelt again how to best days.
The merciless high-speed passages that have always distinguished, alternate perfectly with the mid-tempo passages. Araya schreiht at this album also back the soul from the body as if it were the devil, though not quite as aggressive as in Ghua.
The song material is consistently at a high level. Only "Catatonic" falls in my opinion from something. From the opener to Supremist a consistently convincing disk when there is already more?
The guitar work of Hannemann and King seeks nachwievor ihresgleiches. It's always impressive how accurate these two master their instruments, Araya's vocal is like saying nasty as ever and Dave Lombardo brings with this album probably the mitbeste power in turn at all. I ever think I never heard that someone delivers such a perfect drumming as he in this album.
The best songs of the album in my opinion are the opener "Flesh Storm", the ingenious "Jihad", the stick hard "Consfearacy", the über-song "Cult" and the closing "Supremist" in which Lombardo simply shattered the mask bearing wannabe drummer. 5 of 10 songs have the makings of absolute classics of the genre, if they are not already there, and the other songs are not filling, but are just absolute Metal Firecracker.
In conclusion remains to say that Slayer has so not been heard since the ingenious "Seasons in the Abyss" disc, especially Dave Lombardo has again very well integrated and the album does in no way against the legends "Hell Awaits" and "Reign in Blood "hide, even if it does not quite reach their quality. A clear buy recommendation!
