Like other Carnegie books (I think "How to Win Friends and Influence People" above), the same is read by moving away from a narrow vision-related work, to generalize for all of conduct of life. I learned many things by myself, some of which I am happy to see confirmed in this book, others I had a tendency to forget and it is good to remember, and finally those where I had not fully matured and where this book allows to step back. The title should rather be something like: "how to be happy" because sincerely apply the precepts described here can only improve daily life significantly! I like the style "American" with lots of celebrity quotes, full of examples, I think it is not too old. While some things may seem at odds, it's only a matter of difference in culture, mentality: I think there was a lot to take and especially if it surprises, it may be that we are on the right track ... I have not seen this story of "Prayer" (see other reviews), but overall: to put in the hands of everyone!
