A literary adventure

Harry is a young executive who works in a big company in Manhattan. Appreciated by his superiors he is one of driving forces of this society that relies on it. But Harry is also a womanizer none.
He can not help it, it's stronger than him. He turned preferably towards married women. Thus, braving the prohibitions can be appeased internally and continue his work.
But a demon eats away, little by little, gradually, inexorably. And soon married women no longer suffice to calm him. It will go further. Something else. Other prohibited.

Selby created a punch novel. The style is sometimes very raw at Harry's image. Writing is sometimes tormented. Sentences that start online environment. Sometimes one word per line shifted each time to form a kind of staircase that goes down irretrievably. A picture of Harry ...

The set is of course perfectly understandable. We understand very quickly that the unhappiness suffered Selby's character is a deep hurt. It has everything to succeed, will succeed ... but nothing works.

The tension rises to a crescendo until the final denouement. Relentless.

It is a book that you really have read. It should taste this dark, dive with Selby in this living hell. A masterpiece, a unique literary adventure.
