Krzyzanowski is what you might call a posthumous author. He remained virtually unknown and unpublished in his lifetime we can play today, because we can assume that these books would have little more to Soviet censors ("being reduced to a philosophical one such misery world view should suffice for all ... "p86). His anonymity did not forearmed against poverty, but at least he will not have experienced the gulag. This opus is not my favorite, however ("The bookmark" is excellent), especially because of the density of philosophical themes (and sometimes words) chosen. But some images by the author are dazzling. I find it's his great strength, with its originality (On bit like Borges at times, but it's another thing) and visionary side. In "Memories of the Future" it seemed clear that he had knowledge of the theory of relativity or at least the relativity of time, again, he wonders about the nature of time and even its granular appearance (like vacuum between atoms). Remarkable in many ways, but a little hard opus.
