Penumbra is to be considered regarded as complete works, similar to series just in Vol. 1 and 2 broken down. After Episode 1 is literally right on in Episode 2. In terms of playability and creepiness Episode 2 but has again risen quite a bit. So were thankfully the annoying fights from Episode 1 is removed, and instead put more on stealth sequences - very exciting! The puzzles are a bit more difficult in my opinion, but always logical. Still impressed me the fantastic physics engine that allows for a credible interaction with many Gegegnständen and objects. Also positive: In the story more attention has been paid in Episode 2, remained much in Episode 1 unclear and in the dark. SPOILER !! The end, however, is a little funky and almost esoteric (took me a bit reminiscent of the movie Abyss). SPOILER END !!
To complain about but I have also a little something: Total Episode 2 is still much shorter than Episode 1 (5,5 hours I loudly Statistics were used). In addition, the beginning is pretty linear. Once the game crashed and I ended up on the desktop - through a patch to fix the problem lies, however.
Conclusion: Originally planned as a trilogy, it was just now but only a two-parter. But I expect it to developers at high that you've ever created a degree and have not stopped just after the first part. Penumbra 1 + 2 counts in the adventure genre the best I've ever played. Here is just right (almost) everything!
