Reinhard Mey had already written almost all the tracks for his new studio album, in March 2007, it was with his longtime producer Manfred Leuchter to the studio in late 2006 - that's come out of many fans long awaited "guitar music". The "Meyster" was supported by the crème of European string virtuosos, including the Dane Nils Tuxen. The solid handwork is complemented by the usual personal texts of German chansoniers, the current issues touch just prancing as they bring the pearls of everyday life sparkle.
The result is no doubt the best work of the musician for years. Lyrically and musically here has managed a new masterpiece. The stories told, the personal insights that ironic glances - all of this takes the listener completely trapped, and with an intensity as to numerous other high phases of the Berliners.
Here is a great artist a very personal, wonderfully poignant, sometimes oppressive and then again presented slight work elsewhere. Wunderbar!
