A milestone in storytelling

Although I have played through the PS3 version last year, I made the announcement of Naughty Dog to make the game even in a remastered version on the PS4, the same offset in ecstasy. Especially in view of the fact that me all PS4 games have to chat right now only quite mau with some very bad stories told, was the thought that one lap to again "The Last of Us" gamble without PS3, a revelation ,

And is Tlou, as it is called in the short form, not even original or even revolutionary, in terms of game mechanics in any way. This has to be transported to the afterlife of the controller and what you have to do as a player so, that opponents en masse, seen it all before. And who knows, for example, the Uncharted series of Naughty Dog, who will feel quickly at home in the control. In short, the game mechanics is indeed excellent and well executed, but does not make the decisive attraction.

The strength of Tlou is clearly in the excellent story and very well prepared and absolutely believable characters. I really can not recall that one game would have done it before, so trigger a rollercoaster ride of emotions already in the first 10 minutes in me. And that's where the setting, namely an army of mutants that threatens the last survivors in a post-apocalyptic world, so now is really anything but unspent. Nevertheless, Naughty Dog has managed to tell a story that captivates from the beginning, contains dramatic twists and an end, in which long afterwards deals with the question: "What would I have done in a situation like ???"

Particular attention has also placed on the character development. The people encountered at the beginning of the game are not the same that you get to face at the end of the game. You have changed because of their experiences on the long journey. And one can also understand these changes as the game progresses! Excellent!

From the technical side, looking at the port is managed on the PS4, but one should not expect miracles. It's just not a remake but a Remastered version, which you should keep in mind when considering the differences between the PS3 and PS4 version have to look with a magnifying glass while playing. There are of course (resolution, frame rate, light and mirror effects), but you really have to look very closely. Overall, we see the game of course, already that it is made for the old generation of consoles. This is not a major shortcoming, especially Tlou has the PS3 in terms of graphics really pushed to the absolute performance limit and therefore the title still looks damn good.

Conclusion: The Last of Us is a game from which many manufacturers happy times may take a leaf! How to do it! I am always amazed at the many multi-million dollar productions from major development studios, which apparently develop first bombastic and expensive graphics and sound effects and seem to be only then to think about the story. Since then often well the budget is consumed and for a professional story writers no more money, so that you can quickly comes up with a mindless background story on novelette level. Otherwise I can in any case the often miserable story with many titles not explain ...

With The Last of Us one can in any case not go wrong and it is one of the games that you should have played the game just once, because there is such a grandiose masterpiece only every few years. Considering further that one gets in this package nor the way, as first-class DLC "Left Behind", which tells the history and an intermediate event, and thus you can not complain about the price also.
There is also a multiplayer, where you can compete with people online, but I did not angetestet to multiplayer games for generellem disinterest.
