I let myself be tempted by this book following the media interest it has generated, and obviously because the topic intrigued me. Book erotic said, bondage and sadomasochism dealing with the subject proved tempting and strongly aroused my curiosity. But unfortunately I have to admit that I am disappointed. Books "classic" containing a single love scene more exhilarated me as this one, which nevertheless features a scene like this every 20 to 30 pages past a certain chapter. I do not necessarily think this book would awaken in me crazy cravings as is his reputation, let's not be naive (ves), it is not. But I told myself that a book about BDSM and addressed to a large audience was bound to arouse in his readers a heightened interest because these practices often ignored and yet intriguing. Unfortunately, the subject left me unmoved. I will not criticize the author's writing style, which for me is fine. What I liked least, is the way the author presented the BDSM practices and feelings of the protagonists about it. I simply have not hooked, and it has awakened in me no particular interest, which is a shame when the novel deals primarily with that. Then, to keep the negatives, I will speak of the heroine, Anastasia Steele, one might without exaggeration be described as virgin "pure, chaste and innocent." So okay, virgin at 22, I have no problem with that, it implies that the young woman will discover all the sex in this novel, and it is quite interesting. But this side "innocent" was much too advanced for me. View Ana feel new sensations in the lower abdomen, thinking of what to expect with the shadowy Christian Grey, and say "That must be it, the desire" ... there, the novel loses all credibility in my eyes. I find that the author has unfortunately tried to do too much, probably in an effort to accentuate the gap between Ana and Christian, but which spoiled things for me.
In short, it must still emphasize that there is positive in this novel, very positive. First of all the mystery that surrounds the main character, Christian Grey. The author has managed to keep it brilliantly, we can only have an interest in this character, and we look forward throughout the book to learn more about him and to finally discover its secrets intimate ... Then, of course, the relationship between Christian and Anastasia. After a few chapters, Ana takes confidence and dare. The side "too pure" fades a little to make room for a more plausible figure for my taste, and this is precisely where things get interesting. Their relationship is a game where everyone takes the advantage to turn round, and I'm surprised not to see time fly for a few chapters where I could barely close the book. And finally, the end of the novel. There are novels that transcend you all along and whose spoils drop everything. For me it is the opposite that happened with it. I will say no more history you will reveal nothing.
Impossible not qualify this erotic novel. Nevertheless, I would say that his interest, in my view, lies not at all in that aspect, but in the mystery surrounding its main character, Christian Grey. That's what hooked me in my reading to the end, and that makes me say that ultimately, despite a difficult start during which I clung not at all, it was worth the trouble anyway. I do not particularly advise this book, but if like me the hype he has been stirs your curiosity, do you do your idea. I have not been very receptive to the topic, but I think it's very personal and it just depends on the people.
