The installation is very easy because the connection cables are long enough so that you should find a suitable location for installation in any car. Very big the box is not. On two additional jacks other system devices such as a CD changer can be connected.
Once the device has been infected recognizes the radio the box and you can select Bluetooth Audio as an additional source and with the TMC button, you can enter the telephone mode. The menus are all already prepared for Bluetooth operation. It even goes so far that you can store phone book entries in the favorites list.
The audio protocol works with my Galaxy i9000 excellent. I had in the previous radios always problems during the transmission and short interruptions. This happens not here. The controlled completely via the car radio so that the phone can safely remain in the pocket.
The telephone mode is also very good. The box reads the phonebook from very fast and you can then select from the radio who you want to call. The controller is just as simple and intuitive as in all other menus. If an incoming call, the display shows the number or, if the caller is stored in the phonebook, the caller's name. The microphone can be adjusted by different parameters the conditions in the car. The sensitivity can be adjusted just like a noise or echo cancellation.
The pairing of the devices is done via a unique Bluetooth ID, so you can give the PIN input. The phone will be searched when and if it is found immediately nearby. The status messages, for example, worked out that the download of the phone book are displayed with the other sources on the radio. Whatever the reception is 1A, I got, in the list of devices when installing in the garage even my laptop, so that was 2 floors higher at the time on the storage.
You can select each different device for the audio ond phone function. So it is possible to use a telephone to call and one for the audio operation. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to try this with different devices.
When KIV-700 and the battery charge status, the reception strength and there is a Bluetooth connection is displayed on the bottom line of the display.
Also software updates can be easily via the USB port of the radio import, which so far I could not detect any malfunctions, the firmware must therefore be described as very mature.
Conclusion:
If you have a Kenwood radio that brings no Bluetooth receiver makes it very easy to upgrade through this box and you have the full functionality and best reception. The integration (at least in the KIV-700) is very good and I can recommend to anyone the box.
