"Little Broken Hearts" is full of deep sorrow and experienced painful losses. The very first song "Good Morning" represents the beginning of a separation process, and not hope for a better day (* My thoughts on leaving are back on the table ... I thought you should know *). "Say Goodbye" then displays the first time the handwriting DMs - catchy drums, synth sounds and a correspondingly high vocally screwed Norah Jones. And one of the finest lines of text on the album sounds in the second verse by: * You do not have to tell the truth ... Cause if you do I'll tell it too * can be expressed better what can be separations to combat zones ?
Just as these two songs begin the separation process, go to the following pieces in the separation itself, which run from the ex-partner and the subsequent self-reflection about.
My highlight is "4 Broken Hearts", the original chorus * So you tried to replace me ... But you did not get far ... And I tried to repay you ... But I only got scarred * over the song almost playfully * transforms into a * And we tried to be faithful ... But did not get far ... Now all we'll be left with is ... 4 broken hearts.
The two pieces "Out on the Road" (* I never wanted to be taken ... But now I'm feeling so left out ... So I do not care where I go *) and the subsequent "Happy Pills "(* With you gone, I'm alive ... Makes me feel like I Took happy pills *) build on each other, heading in the lyrics as in musical style and leave the CD on a kind of road movie.
"Little Broken Hearts" is an inspiring collection of 12 interwoven, deep songs. It is a 45-minute separation, reflected the inner struggle that Verltzlichkeit at a separation, but also anger at the partner and often empfundende as wasted time.
Whoever brought Danger Mouse to step into the shoes Ryan Adams, in 2009 their album "The Fall" co-developed, has accomplished a feat. This CD outshines "Come Away With Me" and all publications Colander and is the perfect musical mix for warm spring evenings, quiet Sunday afternoons and a 3/4 hour escape from the daily grind. Great!
