A musical very good album

Hard Believer (MP3 Download)

Customer Review

yes, you can certainly let them stand. The album is wonderful. The individual pieces ranging from herzzerreisend to anticipate drifting. I can give here the best will wcf.itrader.ratingOverview. Although there really are a two pieces here that do not really want to taste me but about taste can / should / need not argue with it. from the music itself, I would therefore give 5 stars. But since there are already plenty of praise in this category, I can save a detailed description and would rather go with the 2 stars withdrawal continued.

BECAUSE:

I'm really not sooo picky, but when when an album by musicians of this caliber is taken, then it is for me not understandable when is then recognized with such a violence of the compressor. For those who are wondering now, what I'm talking, please just search for "Loudness War" googling. As I said, it is rare that I mokiere something because I usually say: "OK, but the music is just still really good!". With Daft Punk Random Access Memories me is the first really noticed times. The album sounds great, the production is very clean but somehow I miss this last bit ... I-Spring-you-in-face dynamics.
That's how I felt at the first track Hard Believer the new Finch disc. Like the music, is well thought out and properly recorded and well composed mainly. But something is missing. At the latest at Pilgrim me was then finally clear: here is not missing anything, but here are a few things were just a little stressed too strongly. Too bad. The track is really exciting and builds a nice (let's call it) tension which terminates in an appropriate finale. But it is missing this absolute goose bumps that had the song more than deserved. The fast, propulsive guitar fades in the soup of the remaining instruments. Clear it is clearly visible, but stands just not as apparent. On the web is a live recording of the song circulating at a radio station. And all just sounds much more authentic times.
As a comparison, here you should listen to the album Veneer by Jose Gonzalez once. This is to demonstrate how to effectively emphasize a guitar in acoustic space and stressed without you seems unnatural.

I immediately thought back to Random Access momories: In contact when the organ starts ... you, because you could really make something out of it. Thus an organ may, used properly, miss a song a U-turn, which acts as a surprise and thus captivating that one falls jaw down. At first I thought it is up to my system or headphones, but no matter what system, it did not get better.

Daft Punk can I still lose weight because the meanwhile simply market-oriented pop music deliver. That's not a negative criticism, because they make really good. But Fink is in my opinion not designed to mainstream. If you want to achieve this with some Hard Believer? If so, I think it is pathetic, but to take the path of extreme compression and reduce the artist himself created his songs with diligence to inferior quality by raping the recordings afterwards. Did the artists because it no more influence? Anyway, I just hope that someday a remastered version of the album comes out, that is the compositions contained on justice ... but it I can probably wait long.

However, I still see a glimmer of hope: For RAM, the vinyl version was supposedly much better. I think I'll just go out to get me the reviewed here Album "in large". The music it is all worth it, only I am sorry to have to buy an album twice.

Surely this feeling also comes from the fact that I had spent the last days with Liminal by The Acid in which I had at the beginning examine again whether I actually only hear stereo or if I accidentally activate ProLogic (7.1 "extrapolation") had. The reason that this album has been granted in the post-production of appropriate effort, creating a dynamic and above all space is created, which has become rare. Would this effort Fink earned equally. This album would definitely be a contender for my album of the year.
If I these two albums only once in respect must compare on a detail: The "Snare" is probably the easiest to distinguish detail. While at The Acid this "Tschahaaaaa" the room literally cuts through and can occasionally wince a, Fink is a far cry from such an effect and rather predictable and mushy. It's just below the rest of the drum sets and blurred with the other Insrumenten a kind Background Mash which is good to hear, but the instruments are difficult to separate. There is no stop at resolution.

I could now run even further, but I will break the now here and draw a conclusion type:

For those who have little importance on dynamics, but simply a beautiful album will call their own: Please be sure to act, you will not regret it.

For those who really appreciate a good production and also once set to consciously hear music the stereo triangle: you can also like to press on order, as long as you can ignore once on the compression. But please do not expect "high-resolution" disc.

And the small part of the people who deal mainly with audiophile material: Just leave it alone. You will only be disappointed. Some would spread immensely bad reviews, what is really not appropriate in view of the musical performance of Fink ... when it comes to production, I am with you. Perhaps you should equal the LP recourse, provided this is really better in terms of dynamics and resolution.

Edit: Just Had notice that I have the MP3 Download reviewed. The assessment, however, refers to the CD

PS: 15.8.2014 - So I really got myself yesterday the vinyl version. I really had very high expectations of a good piece, especially with regard to the dynamics. Unwrapped, cleaned, placed, needle top and ... Damn, I did not expect. This difference is so little of seriously. All of a sudden I find out a signal depth and a stage, which is something of solemnly but. Pilgrim sounds finally so on, as it should be. Shakespeare transported the content directly in the center of the room. And looking too closely, which I have previously hardly noticed, suddenly stands out with an intensity that I got to use the piano goosebumps. The madness, and yet I have with my ollen ATN 95 far no quality needle in the arm.
So, to those who lack some of the depth at Hard Believer and a turntable call their own: Unrestricted buy rating - 5 stars for the plate. Those who want to buy the CD to Digitize: MP3 Download Code is as with most current vinyl phenomena of course included.
