If you want to connect to the Canon macro flash to the 100 mm macro lens, there is no alternative to the adapter. The adapter also works satisfactorily with mounted lens filter, which is not actually provided by service instructions. Never ring screw too tightly, as it can otherwise be difficult to remove - must be observed!
