Customer Review

For a few months makes the soon 24-year-old Englishman Ben Howard's attention. First in England, now the world. Superb songwriting combined with acoustic guitar on Champions League level. Songs like The Fear, Old Pine, Only Love and mainly Keep Your Head up going to the ears and hearts and they just do not get out of your head. But to stick to the truth: There is no weak song on this album.

Rarely has excited me in such a debut album. The music is located in the folk genre. For this, the voice that gently caresses sometimes but then is also strong and gripping and caused goose bumps. A voice recognition that sometimes a little on Sting but remembered but should not really be compared with him up. If this Ben Howard comes out not quite big, I do not understand the world anymore. And I hope he does not make the Musikbuissenes broken. I truly hope many, many more music of this exceptional artist.

Too bad that I was this day carefully a review on Ben Howard only. On May 04, he plays in Hamburg live in Grosse Freiheit. Unfortunately, all the cards are out. For the concert at 21:04. in Dresden, there are still tickets available; Unfortunately, the appointment does not fit but in my schedule. I therefore hope that he will soon come back to Hamburg.

Who is the new darling of Musikjournaille Ed Sheeran great finds in Ben Howard, the "icing on the cake". Promised. The album is for me already a contender for the title "Album of the Year" (or even more?). What should come after this year yet? - Sorry to those who can not do anything with this genre of music, for my exuberant enthusiasm. But one was told: This album is a must for any serious music collection. And one more thing: This album should be at home on the stereo - like a little louder - listen; not just about the "Brüllwürfel". Because this album provides music for dreaming of days with - how so says- in the north "Schietwetter, songs to sing along to, songs that come off on fetuses (Keep Your Head Up) and songs for the campfire.
