While contacts are forged between a trafficker Kader Sahel, young doctors Islamists in Mauritania and Jasmine, a young widow of a French consul in Maritanie few years ago and works at the Quai d'Orsay Protocol. these contacts are observed by an American agency "Providence" remotely and via some field agents, especially Dimitri, a young American doctor from an NGO who works in a hospital Nouakchott. This agency will try to understand what is in this huge valley area between Mauritania, Algeria, Niger and Mali. The novel plays in the complexity of his characters, especially Jasmine, between West and East and between traffic and Kader Al Qaeda.
This novel is enjoyable, it very easily built a thriller in which we follow the action to increase gradually between Paris, Washington, Algeria and the Sahel to an unpredictable ending. The stories of espionage in Islamic circles always complex to describe here are fairly convincing. Jean-Christophe makes his story credible by its hollow description ambivalent motivations of the protagonists and some details which he denies having obtained its function ambassdeur.
This book is a good book will not disappoint readers who like to be guided by the author in the complexity of the hero.
