+++ = Pedagogy. As a former instit 'I know something, and I'm blown away by all the tricks deployed by the method as to make the child actor of his learning a bunch of little games (write a clef on his left hand, paste stickers in the right fingers, identify key disguises and notes on staves). The kind of details that adults do not think but are a lesson a little party. Super Detail: Au Clair de la Lune is seen first in early method, and then a second time, but with the left hand: excellent to do so back the child to himself way how he learned Things meantime. I find quite playful and progressive spirit of Octave Octave - tender ear, my favorite method to discover the rhythm and music to toddlers (but not the same author).
The book begins with a demonstration of what we can do on a piano: a story is told by walking on the keyboard. I was afraid of not being up to it, because I'm not a musician, but in fact it is well designed, it does not need to be a pianist to tackle it.
+++ = Serious knowledge made endnotes. The graphic terms are fly ("you need a key to open the door of the range"), the lessons are clear and concise (but still not affordable before 5-6 years). Well, dare I say it? I started in the self-learning piano with Michael AaronAaron Piano Courses for Adults Vol.1, and I gave up because it was going too fast, it was too hard, I felt lost. I return with the Arc-en-ciel method and the pretext of accompanying my 4 year old son in his debut (without teacher or conservatory); and I finally learn things matter theory, and I take confidence in me because it's fun and it never feels defeated. I went to look at the author's blog: no error, she has a strong academic background in pedagogy, it shows. And actively prepares the volume 2 of his method, because it really has a very incipient left hand, and then, when we want to go further, we must switch to other methods in black and white, more tristounettes. On her blog she also explains that the conservatory teachers began with a crazy to take because it was sticking the stickers on the button, s but after a few months, the children were playing, while those of his colleagues ran out to coordinate all (recognition notes, keys, pffuit!). It seems then switches to color litters in black and white is very good, by simply surrounding the black and white notes with the colors, the time that storage is done. Anyway, as they say in educational jargon, colorize notes deprives "cognitive overload" preventing the child to focus on the essentials (play!) And it seems like a smart move (like color the syllables when learning to read).
In short, a fun method, quality, with a clever use of stickers that appeals to a child of 4 years, and gives a good foundation to a panicked a little adult!
