The first user of the Senseo (I had two) and then acquiring a Nespresso City, I admit that I have my Senseo relegated to a secondary use. Disappointed by his longevity (my second senséo quickly withdrew for two coffees at the same time), I wanted to be convinced by this new edition.
Packaging: The new Senseo wants to be more modern, more class, out of touch with its tactile keys and eyeing the side of the Nespresso machines. For me, no interest to have tactile keys except in cases where the spill water or coffee on, this is not going around corners. After it's just the appearance.
The machine takes longer to heat my city (that is to say !!) and it must also warm up between two coffees (not my city).
The overall look is pleasing to the eye but I think it is not very successful. That does not appeal to me more than that. The old design was at least signed and full of character. Here I have more the feeling of a machine that wants to throw in his eyes to warrant a price still exorbitant for the basic coffee pods. At that price, I'd rather buy a real espresso machine or renew my city.
The more compared to the old Senseo is the compartment where we set the pods because we can put two pods without they exceed and coffee go well. In addition the closing process is nice.
Coffee level (most important): big disappointment because of a metallic aftertaste (and smell) because of the resistance that heats I do not know but it's not pleasant to drink. I hope that in use it will disappear. NB: after two weeks, the metallic taste is still there and it is not at all pleasant to drink !!! I will try to clean the coffee maker with vinegar.
So I think it's a bit expensive for what it is but that's just my humble opinion ...
