And it actually does. Not with all the songs on "To Your Bones", but in between flashes repeatedly on small beads, showing that Charley Ann could accomplish great things if she has only once explored their musical identity entirely. "Joy" has become so interesting that I would like to see an entire album in this atmospheric style of Charley Ann. Really great, this number. "Spit Love" goes in a similar, somewhat catchier direction and proves that such a panel might actually work. But fleet numbers like "Caramel" and "Hitman" are the singer that can fill these with personality, excellent.
The rest of the songs on the album do not have to hide. The slick production allows Charley Ann always to develop their strong voice. While some songs like "The Light" seem redundant because they resemble other album tracks like the single "Blue Heart" too much. Charley Ann but open to many possibilities, with a really strong second album to reach great artistic relevance, make them and their producers clearly on "To Your Bones". So I like to give 4 twinkling stars.
