Probably only the most optimistic fans.
After various experiments with more modern (for the 90s anyway) Sounds Rob Halford was back with "Resurrection" more than officially. Even the fast and straightforward drauflos boisterous theme song was so many of us fans a sigh wistfully, along the lines of "Why does he do not like that with Priest? * Snüff *".
Stylistically it goes on "Resurrection" quite varied to the point: From Painkiller-like fast and hard as the example of the theme song, over more traditionsbewusstere Heavy rockers (Locked and Loaded) and ballads to something more extravagant songs (Twist) is all represented what you can expect from this exceptional singer. The material is presented absolutely convincing and is produced according to the hardness of very neat.
A little highlight is the duet with Bruce Dickinson (The One You Love To Hate), who had already demonstrated how a singer solo career can bring out albums that can look quite old his ex-band.
In retrospect, we can say: Comparing "Resurrection" with the sound made and successful Priest reunion album "Angel of Retribution", so you know this solo album really appreciate only really and it is finally clear that in Halford Priest also is significant for the songwriting.
Conclusion: The CD can be any fan of this variety only strongly recommended.
