Andy Hunter's last album "Colour" (2008) appeared, something uncharacteristic of the "Exodus" and "Life" spoiled fan. Although the significant excess length most of the songs still concerned, the British DJ set now to verses, chorus and even properly pop Title ; also due to the largely unknown guest vocalist. The 5 track EP "Collide" (which nevertheless achieves a runtime of nearly 35 minutes due to their long songs), now represents something of a back-to-the-Roots plate. The new model of the 2008 releases soft again those of the first two albums , And you can tell from the first minute, the "Collide" is not a just quickly between Slid release, which should cover the period to the next album, which admittedly is not even necessary for Andy Hunter's reputation. All songs shine with excellent beats, samples and lots of small details, you realize the plate their sophistication immediately. Only "Dawn Vision" (3 stars) acts in places a bit boring, forms the basis of the less serious fare, unlike the first 3 tracks but a kind of breather, which according to this fast, epic and above heavenly beats only so exuberant pieces (all each 5 star) but is certainly needed. The title track raises the pace again and forms a kind of résumé. Here is reset to the gewohten song samples, as is often distorted nice. A great title track (5 Stars), a Mitsinger whose genius is indeed done by a respective long intro / outro a small crash, does not fall within the overall context, however, directly into the weight. Although the EP, as mentioned, rather marched back into the old stylistic direction, I will perceive it as a notice to the next LP. The bad reviews for "Colour" and the now outstanding will have Mr. Hunter probably shown what he can do best. And precisely because of this mix he creates by, with film music and synth, and finally combines rock and hip-hop, is one Techno / Trance Andy Hunter for me to the best and most creative DJ's of our time.
