Express Way is delightfully soul, acid jazz majestically and skillfully electro-hip-hop, while remaining a historical tribute (Billie Holiday, Marvin Gaye) and kinematics (Tarantino, De Palma, Spike Lee ...) powerful. The Blue Note's influence is obvious ('If You Arrest Me', 'Highway Blues "," Race Records ") and featuring many make the album simply disturbing: The Gift of Gab from Blackalicious collective, Magic Malik (flute legend), Julien Lourau (electro-sax), Vincent Segal (cello Bumcello) ... The album ends with a final worthy of the greatest Ninja Tune, revisiting a legendary saxophonist 'Lester Young Blowing In Eternity His Horn Alone '. A major and indispensable album, a real trip-hop of a time that could be called post-soul.
