This is the CD that marks the return of the Scottish group Sharleen Spiteri and his boys; after eight years without album (most recently in 2005), due to a health problem of one of the musicians. This comeback may appear as a kind of return to basic sources of inspiration of the group in the late 1980s and the early days of the 1990s even if there is some of that, renewal is also net . Indeed, Sharleen and his group here give us titles of great value, with a fairly original sound. Largely forgotten the slightly disappointing evolution of the early 2000s, with concessions to modernity synthetic systematically; electric guitars back often ... One title - designed for large stadium concerts in evenings - may appear connected with what this time to Texas beach 4 ("Detroit City"). Apart from this, what strikes you are - for example - the power tubes, like "The Conversation" (track 1). Or very pop songs, such as that from the beach 2 ("Dry your eyes"). Or title Soul Beach 11 ("Big World"). Or alternatively the beautiful ballads like "I Will Always" (track 5), "Maybe I" (track 9) and "I need time" (track 12). Or finally the more rock songs, like "Hearts are made to stray" (track 10). In short, a very successful drive, which will delight fans of the group and focus again those of his former admirers who were removed for reasons related to a change that was - in their eyes - essentially commercial.
