A rewrite that thrills Persuasion

Persuading Annie (Paperback)

Customer Review

Persuading Annie is a modern rewrite of Persuasion and after much praise, I was eager to read it.

The story is that of Annie, a young student in love with Jake and a bright future. Unfortunately, a misunderstanding compromises his fate and his love. Years later, one finds forced to live with his sister to save his father, who owns a large company to the brink of bankruptcy. One speaker then called for help to save the family business: Jake. How will the reunion happen after so many years and resentment?

This book is only available in English and although I must admit I have not always seized all, I enjoyed the writings of Nathan Melissa. It plunges us into his story amid Persuasion. I love this latest novel by Jane Austen and put this story in our times is invigorating. Between the nineteenth and twenty-first century, unlike the customs and sense of propriety is clearly visible, history and the events of the original work have been transformed so of course. And I must say that the author is doing very well. The story is fluid and enjoyable to read.

I enjoyed this rewriting and highly recommend it. I can not wait to read the rewriting of the same author of Pride and Prejudice: Acting Up, also known under the title: Pride and Prejudice and Jasmin Field.
