This book is about the child prodigy Colin, who at the beginning of the book of the 19th Katherine succession was jilted. To distract him takes him his best (and only) friend Hassan with on a road trip in deepest Tennessee's where you will find Lindsey some important insights about themselves and the meaning of life.
The cover was designed by one of Greens readers and like incredibly good to me. The first footnote indicates that many still following remarks, the small icons embody everything that is in this book is important. Something math, some road and a lot of heartache.
Nevertheless, the book is anything but cheesy. On the contrary, it contains pretty much every positive emotion that is a human being to feel capable. Greens fantastic language let me sympathize with Colin, his heartache over Katherine-19 experience and witness the slow budding love to Lindsey. He also writes incredibly funny. As noted at the outset, it is primarily the footnotes, the funny comments which make the book so entertaining. Small stories or useless facts are interspersed that you stumble always happy about it.
Also forming neologisms like "Loneliness of Crushlessness" a sort of higher level of language. The hyper-intelligent Colin is represented by its high fretted language on the one hand as a very distant, on the other hand it is precisely thereby grown on me. He seems to be so incompetent in part, that it a really sorry socially.
The negative and painful side of life leaves Green out of here. In Margo's footsteps or Looking for Alaska me these were to present this work I like much better in its apparent superficiality.
All in all, I can only put "An Abundance of Katherines" all his heart. Clever and witty writing with interesting themes and great characters, it provides everything you need for a great book. And not only for young people this novel is absolutely suitable. Some English Kentnnisse but you should bring, as Greens style is not always easy to read.
From me there is 5 out of 5 stars.
