Already, I was surprised that the tour is so short. Given the summary I expected that the volume is concentrated on that, but not this only lasts a few chapters. This did not bother me too much, the author preferred to dwell on other things that were equally pleasant.
Katniss's life is discovered after the games. How she took over his life and his relationships with the people of District 12. His gesture, with the berries at the end of the game, created an unprecedented event. The districts have interpreted it as a gesture of revolt. A rebellion wind blows gently.
To avoid the storm, President Snow puts Katniss pressure: it must restore calm by showing, to districts that gesture was the act of a woman hopelessly in love in despair.
I really liked this volume. I devoured it in a weekend, a small puff of freshness.
The characters and their relationships have evolved, what could be more normal after these terrible games.
First the big change this tome is Katniss! In the first volume, we discovered a person of great coldness, and although one is in his thoughts, there was virtually no feelings on his part. Here Katniss opens, expresses his feelings internally and externally. What a pleasure to see her break the ice. She has seizures, tears, joy, suffering, sorrow, pain, love, relief etc. I am strongly attached to it. It does not control, she's stuck in her situation and she can not keep things from falling apart all around her.
His relationship with Peeta and Gale are also changing. I appreciate more and more Peeta, we discover a courageous and dedicated, but also very intelligent and with a lot of resources. He put me in full view. As for Gale, we discover and learn to know him better. I already had a soft spot for him and he persisted with this sequel.
Then there Haymitch, who reveals too surprising. We will have the chance to discover its Hunger Games to him. But above all, we will learn more about him.
We will also discover the participants of the new Hunger Games. Surprising, engaging, dangerous and having a lot of resources, I apprehended those players differently than those from previous games and they really liked me!
The story is very compelling and I am fully retracted into it. So much so that one evening, closing the book, I was very frustrated and I have come to tell me that I did not like being taken as a book. Then I re-keying of course I like being absorbed further by history, love yourself! I just put my frustration in the wrong place, I do not like is having to rest the novel! hu hu!
The story is well constructed, the author does not dwell on the information given in the first volume and advance in the plot. She knew right amount unwinding. Everything related to the Hunger Games with the details of the vote, the ceremony of the training are less detailed. It focuses more on the characters and their feelings. But especially on the revolt buzzing in the background in the narrative.
Although I have seen some elements to come as and from my reading, it does not bother me surprisingly. Generally, I like to be surprised and not see things coming. But here it was not so much the purpose that interested me but the way to achieve it. And this way deceived me.
As for the games themselves, the arena did not like more than that. I found it too overrated, but the fact that the game changed over previous Hunger Games, more than offset this.
Writing is always nice and light, accessible to all. The parties, and the chapters are well cut. Scroll pages themselves.
So in the end, a second album that seduced me as much as the first. A very powerful story and takes an interesting turn. The author has managed to develop people, their relationships and the story as a whole. A very good read!
