Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess is a book about the life of young Alex. This earned his living with violence. He and his Droogs, his friends beat, rape and even kill, and all for fun. Until Alex one day arrested by the police and soon gets into a program of scientists who want to turn young offenders honest citizens. Initially you have with the language of young people, a mixture of English and Russian, problems, but after a few pages, you will feel also as a "Droog" and the language appears a commonplace, even almost normal. The reader is involved in what is happening, that it seems almost uncanny. One kämpt, thinks, feels and suffers with the hero of the book, who knows no escape from its mid-sized life except violence. Clockwork Orange is by graußame but true portrayal of violence not for the faint hearted. The book teaches frightened and at the same time and it is this mixture it is that makes the book so exciting that you will not want to put it out of his hand.
