Hasbro A6984100 - Monopoly Junior, Edition 2014 Children's (toy)

Customer Review

I have always made a big circle around Monopoly to my traumatic childhood memories were (plays times a day with older siblings ...!). But now me this junior version was offered with the cute characters (dog, cat, ship and car), and because my 7-year-old basically replaces each character by a car, I wanted to make him happy. So we now come to our own family first Monopoly.

The game:
One notices immediately that it "My first ..." falls under the category, because it is super easy from the construction to the rules. After some preparation, the push out from the sales brands, and unpacking the card, the money and the figures is, to choose his character and makes them available to LOS. Then you take the matching Sold brands, sets out the event cards on the playing field, the banker distributes the money, and then the youngest player already dice.

The cash distribution is as follows:
With 2 players, each receives 20 M.
With 3 players, each receives 18 M.
With 4 players, each receives 16 M.

The rules are so simple that we no longer had to read already in the first round:
- If you come to a free land, you have to buy it. The plot has an owner, you have to pay rent.
- Heard a player a pair, so both plots a color, he gets double the rent.
- Whenever you land on GO or pulls over, there are 2 M.
- The event cards give additional impetus to the game, because they can be good or bad.
- There is a prison and a "free parking" box.
- Who loses is broke, the others count their money and the most wins.

For advanced users there is the possibility of its debt through the sharing of land to get rid of.

The rounds have lasted not very long, the three of us played among 10 and 15 minutes.

My subjects (7 and 9) it was fun, the rounds were funny, and for brevity can it ever slide well when times is only time for a short game. I like it very well, I seem to have overcome my trauma! Of course, it is very easy not to compare with the "correct" Monopoly. Only the money is funny. It is made of very thin, single-sided paper. You have to watch very carefully so you do not miscount.

Conclusion: Not as challenging as the original, but with its sweet characters and the simple rules has given us the Junior Edition 2014 convinced. I forgive 5 stars because I find the game for the target group (from 5 years) really great!
