Energetic is an adjective that goes well with their music. A very punchy Hard Rock inspired directly 80s (the angry side of the first titles reminds me of the old Skid Row which is far from an insulting comparison) with a good dose of rock and roll in it. It has simply said air like that but some groups know better than others make this attractive music. And Sister Sin is one of them.
What is the recipe for these Swedes? Big sound and a singer who wants it. Indeed, Liv yells to the jaw-dropping and gives everything she has. Even on the ballad "The Jinx", only respite from this flood of decibels, it really does not calm down. Guitarist Jimmy sends Hiltula effective riff and solo that just as ballast. The rhythm section hammers a tempo that gives much want to move, perhaps a little too often the same, only complaint lon can make to the group. In this regard, the power ballad timely to break up the rhythm of the album redundant and brings a welcome breath.
A little tip here and synth ("Count Me Out", "The Jinx"), thus an acoustic guitar ("The Jinx"), some choirs made "Oh Oh Oh" ("Goodbye", "Desert Queen "" Sail North ") or" Hey! " heartfelt ("Ruled By None"), a duet with a male voice on the very catchy "Sail North" and the matter is settled. For the recipe, nothing really revolutionary, you will agree. But guess what, it works! Nine titles for thirty-seven minutes of music that fucks the potato.
No doubt that this group is to see them live.
I will conclude by simply repeating almost verbatim the formula of my learned colleague, Didier, the chronicle of their first album, "Switchblade Serenades", "listen to this album, we say that, really, the Hard Rock will never die "... because six years later, this is still true.
