This remains rigorously well written, very rhythmic, but two points have marred my reading:
- The story is cut to follow the adventures of multiple characters. However, some (or what happened to them) did not interest me very moderately. So I read a lot of chapters on Lyrna Princess diagonally. To put it honestly, only chapters of Reva and Vaelin completely interested me, and to a lesser extent for those bewitched Brother.
- Some scenes stretch interminably, from my point of view. The seat at the end of the book probably occupies a fifth of volume. It's very descriptive and it hardly interested me.
I think my part disinterest comes here we leave the apprenticeship novel (genre which I love), mainly centered on a character (which I prefer) for a classic fantasy novel of heroic. I read from time to time, but when the hero matures, I am less interested on. Finally, there are far fewer surprises in this second volume (the operation orders in Volume 1 was very interesting). In short, a strong novel, but in my opinion lacking a bit of flavor.
