However, and this is the first thing that I enjoyed in this book is that, by allusions or through dialogues, he recounts some events of the previous volume. Convenient for those like me who do not necessarily have memory. I must admit that I was a bit scared because I do not really remembered what had happened. I was able to dive into the book with all the necessary elements in mind, and without feeling, during playback, to miss something.
We find the young Mickey Bolitar Ema and the mysterious, intelligent and beautiful Rachel Spoon. This may seem a caricature to present them in this way, but ultimately, if that's what can be felt when you start this book, one understands quickly that appearances are deceiving. And then the author sowing here and there some elements to which it gives no response, one can doubt that he still plans to write several volumes of the adventures of Mickey and his cronies. It is therefore obvious that the characters will grow.
I'll start with the two main points that disappointed me: First, writing. It is fairly light, and it is sometimes easy. Harlen Coben we used in a sense the very very big here which is not so much the case. While the scenary is intrigues are very well worked but we could ask what if the author did not intrigue priviliged to writing. Perhaps Harlen Coben he wanted to try a style you here to try a new style.
the second weak point, it is the inconsistencies. First, it comes together too quickly. He spends a lot of things in the book, but on a rather short: a great week maximum. And suddenly, it gives a strange impression to the reader. A hero who just take a derusted, to spend a night in the police station and learn a thing absolutely crazy would it be ready the next day to embark on a new adventure? And, every day! Damn tough, Mickey. And the disturbing point, but that is always the same for all police officers: the chance. Each time, the hero falls on the right track, the right person to interview, on the right place to visit.
even when the book marks a good point from the previous volume. Challenging Mickey is quite interesting. He will be brought repeatedly to ask if he really needs his friends embark on his adventure, if the consequences for them will not be too severe. He feels responsible, but at the same time he can not do it without them. And I love the character. His sometimes provocative humor in all circumstances is very funny and makes us relax a little. His passion for basketball, too. I loved how he describes his feelings on the ground, how it is absorbed in his game.
The twists that mark the story as they mark a very good point. They contribute to the suspense and give more density or mystery to history. There is no dead time, which has good points as bad.
However I ménagerais my previous remarks with the following conclusion.
Very of accesses, I'm confusing and I do not know how to star. Harlen Coben for me was during a time the author suspense, thriller par excellence, but I must admit I get a few since the emergence of the nephew of Myron Bolitar. Therefore approaching Harlen Coben seems more the amount of work that the product quality thereof.
Finally I would say that if you are an absolute fan of Harlen Coben then read the book. However if you trépigniez wait to know the result of previous work then you expose there was disappointment because Mickey of history seems to have no end point yet (and probably for some time).
