The Clans Will Raise Again (Ltd. Digipak) (Audio CD)

Customer Review

With "The Clans Will Rise Again" deliver Grave Digger again from a very convincing work. The now sixteenth studio album ranks with consistent quality in the ever-growing discography of the band one.

I must admit that I have the quintet since "The Last Supper" from me no apparent reason neglected and lost sight of. Therefore, absolutely nothing to report to the two previous works "Liberty Or Death" and "Ballads Of A Hangman". Because I "The Last Supper" but absolutely gorgeous place, I was the new shekel against very expectantly. "The Clans Will Rise Again" is one of those albums that pass through from the beginning to the accelerator pedal. Almost every title ignites, and both in the musical, as well as sound technical area there is nothing here to complain. That's what would probably hear every Gravedigger fan of his (favorite) band. The Group remains committed to its music and faithful to their style and can thus continue to be carried away perfectly.

The CD includes 13 regular tracks, add to that a little bonus at the end of it, however, has it all. The majority of the songs is more powerful as ever and can thus enable each "Metal Heart" in the highest of emotion. While there are also here little hangover, but then minimal, which can cloud the overall picture of the grandiose CD in any way.

1. DAYS OF REVENGE
As before, each Gravedigger album "The Clans Will Rise Again" also begins with an instrumental intro. The piece is clearly dominated by the bagpipes, which shortly thereafter comes a drum in the background to use. Overall, the whole thing sounds very Scottish. I found an intro of each Gravedigger CD previously very fit. So also here. Successful launch. (4 | 5)

2. PAID IN BLOOD
As expected, puts the quintet right after a neat Stampfer onto the dance floor. "Paid In Blood" is a genuine Gravedigger catchy, the voranpirscht with a stark reef. Particularly convincing I find the catchy chorus, which you can sing along easily at the second hearing. Class number! (5 | 5)

3. HAMMER OF THE SCOTS
The following title begins with unfamiliar sounds slow, but properly build the atmosphere and tension. The rest holds at least not long on, because after about 18 seconds, the guitars and drums rumble violently off. The song is evolving much like its predecessor to up-tempo number that me but not quite so much sweeps. Nevertheless, popular even with "Hammer of the Scots" can revolve mat! ;) (4 | 5)

4. HIGHLAND FAREWELL
At this point, the initial and surprising combination of bagpipes and hard metal guitars for a refreshing change in the song repertoire makes. The track is also more settled in the mid-tempo, but nevertheless can be very convincing. The bagpipes that appear in the chorus again I find very appropriate. I like. (4 | 5)

5. The Clans Will Rise Again
Behind the title song of the album is a real highlight has probably hidden. "The Clans Will Rise Again" is again more a gloomy Stampfer, where singer Chris Boltendahl can show particularly in the verses of his menacing side. He carries this atmosphere skillfully through the hard chorus, which though simple, but it turned out very catchy. The grandiose guitar solo at the end completes the song. Everything is just right! 6. REBELS
Subsequently, the band pushes the gas pedal again by mercilessly. "Rebels" sets from the start before at full speed and explodes in a very good bridge or in a very good chorus. The song that gets me every time in ecstasy. (5 | 5)
-----
7. VALLEY OF TEARS
Here I see the first only average song. In "Valley of Tears", the band tries again to capture the menacing atmosphere of the title song. However, this by no means succeed, therefore I find particularly the verses very failed. However, a bright spot offers the usual catchy chorus. (3 | 5)

8. EXECUTION
Unfortunately, the experiment with a semi-ballad work to score points is not really on the new shekel. This title begins very quietly, then increases but strong in the speed and hardness. However, the spark will here just is not right skip. Even the chorus can not convince me. Unfortunately, only average. (3 | 5)

9. Whom the Gods Love Die Young
Fortunately, gets the band with this very ordinary mid-tempo Stampfer again the curve. This song is in spite of his (over) length not boring. The crass Bridge passes perfectly through the anthemic chorus. Bravo! (4 | 5)
-----
10. SPIDER
The following track is held back extremely quickly and thus forms the contrast to its predecessor. Despite falls "Spider" rather below the high bar of the album. Especially the chorus turns out quite barren and lyrically uninspired. Gap filler. (3 | 5)
-----
11. The Piper McLeod
Here we are dealing with a short instrumental track, on which I will not lose any big words. It is fitting at this point, because it represents a good transition to the next song. (4 | 5)
-----
12. COMING HOME
For here again lurks a real highlight. In local song again find bagpipes their use, why was heard determined shortly before the instrumental "The Piper McLeod". "Coming Home" pushes on the accelerator and is about the song about "Highland Farewell" on a stage. Here one can clearly praising the epic chorus. (5 | 5)

13. WHEN RAIN TURNS TO BLOOD
This is now the second last and longest song of the album. There is a renewed attempt ballads that still does not quite succeed. The title clearly suffering under his length, so I felt a little bored. Can, as we know Gravedigger yes also create long songs that do not get tired (see "Whom The Gods Love Die Young"). At this point, unfortunately, this ISTB not the case. (3 | 5)

14. WATCH ME THE
Personally, I find the bonus track absolutely gorgeous. "Watch Me Die" is still full of power and hardness. He is a skillful financial statements and overhauled its predecessor by far. (5 | 5)

Conclusion: "The Clans Will Rise Again" could and can still convince me positively. In some places, though gaps are identified that were once so does not exist, but I can live very well. The band finally existed for a few years. The CD gets from me therefore deserved 5 stars! I hope the band will continue to present us with albums of this class.
