Robin Hobb did here demonstrate a mastery in the plot, feelings and psychology of the characters that is worthy of the greatest. The beginning of a trilogy, or rather even a trilogy of trilogies (because after that of the Royal Assassin, there are the adventurers of the sea and one on the Prohpète White, all in the same world, characters that cross and deftly meet), in which, I must admit, I let myself be taken by surprise. From the first pages, we know that one does not will raise the nose before you finish, holding their breath as ever, and it is with regret that, about two o'clock in the morning, fatigue prevent us from reading, and we require them to turn off the light. Fitz, the Fool, Truth and Burrich are endearing, certainly, but they ring true; on Royal, much less than its royal name would suggest, this is a "nasty" very credible, as the attitude that the motivations ... 435 pages of pure happiness!
