The story picks up four years after the first part (to be played is a plus for the understanding of the scenario). [CAN SPOIL] We follow the tribulations of the Marshall James "Jim" Raynor, leader of a revolution against a government down tyrannical and omnipotent. Our mission is to take control of this revolution against the Empire Dominion, ruled by Mensk and work to safeguard humanity face the Zerg threat and our old friend kerrigan. the scenario is quite agreed but quality, we are in the middle of science fiction, the Starcraft universe is closer than in the first part, which is not bad. The characters also, even though they may lack charisma and sink a little into caricature. Note that we have in this game a campaign, certainly comprehensive and long enough (30 hours for a semi-novice like me) but that really leaves on hunger. Indeed, we do not play that human campaign, the story will continue in two episodes to follow "Heart of the Swarm" and "Legacy of the Void."
(MAJ) After reading the forums, some inconsistencies were pointed me between I and II, I had not paid attention. These small inconsistencies will disturb in any way the ambiance, not mine anyway.
In terms of graphics, we just regret that Blizzard did not see more. the campaign is pretty nice but this is not the case for the rest of the game, more empty. modeling is not very advanced, so, as is the tradition at Blizzard, to turn the game on as many machines possible and as quickly as possible. While the game is far from ugly but already outdated graphics serve the overall quality of the game. As is usual, Blizzard gives us quality cinematics.
Sonically, the sound effects are more discreet than in the first part (phew because for me it was quite heavy) and the discrete albeit rather music too, are very pleasant.
On the gameplay should be separately see the solo and multiplayer.
the single player campaign is very nice, a model of diversity if any. The developers have even brought a small RPG touches that would have benefited from extensive: At the end of each mission, we find ourselves HQ Raynor or we can spend money to hire mercenaries or improve our units of this or so via purchasable or improvements undertaken in the laboratory. one little also take the opportunity to talk to various characters. All this, in particular the interactions or choices missions should have been a bit further to give real touch to the game. Note the richness in units not found in multi. Some alert, because, briefings which prémachent a little mission and some surprise effects. The challenge is not especially at the rendezvous.
The multi precisely, let's talk. I'm not a big fan of this kind of game but I could address two three things: IA, at least in normal mode, are not very malignant, they almost always attack following the same tactical approach. The diversity of units is much less than in the countryside, they would have brought a real yet more strategically.
It is now impossible to play in LAN, which bored reason (contestable policy) a whole community of players. However, the online medium, "Battle.net" seems to have been arranged to meet the players.
The races seem well balanced, we feel that Blizzard attention focused there. I think the addict should multi great navigate. Especially since the change, even if it is relative, is present, new units, new capabilities, everything is finely tuned, even if it reduces the risk.
Starcraft II is ultimately a very good game. It shines by its balance and its single player campaign. The multiplayer should take over the former, although it is regrettable lack of LAN. The achievement should have been a bit further and RPG involvement and charisma of the characters in the campaign also. Many are offended to wait and I'm a little less sharp on the issue as the campaign, even if it deals with only one race, is very complete and very entertaining for an RTS All this leaves a very good omen for the rest, but it will make efforts that Blizzard.
Especially since it will take a year and a half or more.
I recommend it anyway. It is an effective and enjoyable.
