The LAN adapter is an absolutely recommendable alternative to the HomeMatic Central and definitely for CUL of Busware.
It does not need anything to be flashed or updated.
Those like me who does not want to operate using the supplied software, with special FHEM on the Fritz box 7390 the HomeMatic devices must disable the bedindlichen on the CD utility AES encryption definitely.
For me it has helped after my Fritz box assigned to the LAN adapter an IP address, to do two things:
1. Set in the Fritz box that the device always assign the same address
2. allocate in the utility the LAN adapter's IP address as a static address and disable DHCP.

For me, it took a while until the adapter has been recognized in the utility.
Why, I have not further explored, the main thing is the AES encryption was turned off.
Then you need this program again if you want to use it together with a HomeMatic CCU (AES on again), DHCP will again activate or wants to put him in the initial state.

FHEM has purpose teach immediately recognized him and defined as unit.
