... To the Americans like to do over again, is to give a face to horror. One gets by close-ups simply too good a picture of the not really tangible nightmares of the Silent Hill universe. Cling film, though good, but clearly recognizing Schminke, bodysuits etc. All in all, these beings were too strong humanized or by a "You do not need to think about how it looks, here you have a detailed view" pressed into a predetermined shape, which own Horror cinema in the head missed a decent damper. The real creepiness that the first games have 1-3 identified for me, for example, was that while I have a look at the disturbing environment and their "inhabitants" was, but was never able to grasp quite what exactly I had there actually in front of me. .. So much was left to the imagination, and often they were even more or less grateful. Despite sweaty hands and many questions in your mind ...
Still another example: I'm a big fan of Insidious and The Conjuring (at least until the last third of the respective movies). Pure No close-ups / humanization, seconds recordings of things in which one wonders whether one has really seen now, neither costumes nor Schminke recognizable shadow can be seen flitting in the background ... voltage: In the first two-thirds ! And then BANG as if you replaced the entire team, is nothing left of this subtlety. Disappointing and frustrating.
Conclusion: Whether for fans of the SH series or for newcomers: Good Popcorn cinema, very mitigated disturbing (because you do not even mow in the movies), super soundtrack, well casted actors and quite pleasant fact that you're not the beasts with massive armed force confronts. Expect but no high-flyer;)
PS This is just my opinion and no umumstößliche truth. Thank you
