A series of murders button San Francisco.
Two groups of people are leading the parallel investigation.
On one side there are the players Ripper a network game that is to say: Amanda (the only one not to have a nickname), Kabel (his grandfather), Esmeralda (a young New Zealand), Sir Edmond Paddington macho an English colonel (actually a New Jersey teenager) Abatha (a Montrealer of 19 who spends his life in hospitals because she suffers from eating disorders) and Sherlock Holmes (an Afro US gifted 13 years).
On the other police headed by an inspector who is none other than the father of Amanda.
The story is divided into two parts. In the first Isabel Allende presents the different characters and describes the murders. When Indiana is kidnapped by the serial killer the story accelerates. Ripper Players and police join forces to find her.
I was touched by the relationship between Amanda to her grandfather. I think the author is best when describing human relationships and personalities that when she talks about the investigation. That does not stop me from reading this book in a few days.
I recommend this book to lovers of "real" thrillers and advises all other readers.
