The first impression is overwhelming: The camera feels good in my (rather large) hands, thanks to the excellent manual - supplementary books you do not need basically - it can be a very short time to operate smoothly. Two dials allow the interaction with different buttons to make a variety of settings without using the menu (exposure compensation, white balance, ISO sensitivity, AF mode and -Messfelder, method of metering, quality and size of the image, etc.), also leaves the camera perfectly configured individually. I particularly like the shoulder screen that displays all the relevant information, so that one hardly needs to monitor (if you want to see not captured images). In low light, the shoulder display can be illuminated, the monitor, so to use it, will automatically switch depending on lighting conditions between dark font on a light background and light text on a dark background back and forth.
And now to the main point: The performance when shooting are beyond reproach. The autofocus works wonderfully precise and fast, even at high ISO settings up to 3200 is practically no noise on (in 6400 only very slight, only when the extensions sacrificing quality are then to make). Of course, the camera program AE, aperture priority, shutter priority and manual operation and an Easy Auto Mode with and without flash. In addition, subject programs are diverse (E. rather superfluous m.) Available. Very helpful and really nice for me are only two shooting modes, namely "Twilight" and "sunset". This really allow evocative images in vibrant colors.
Bracketing (as with different white balance values or different exposure compensation) can be just as easily make such slow (2 to 5 frames per second, the number can be set individually) and fast (6 fps) continuous shooting. The video function is OK, if you secure a still camera is not used primarily for capturing video. Overall, the camera has so many great opportunities that I did not all can enumerate here. Very nice especially is also the most powerful camera-internal image processing software that lets you simulate not only some filter effects such as Skylight, star or blur after shooting, some - for me rather unnecessary - special effects (Miniature, Fisheye) achieve or can amplify a single color but also - what I really appreciate extraordinary - a color balance control allows, if you are not satisfied with the colors of an image. The subsequent distortion is very valuable, as the retrospective perspective correction (finally no longer falling lines in architectural photography and city views!). Those like me who do not want to even subsequently edit images on a computer, will be directly from the many possibilities of image editing in the camera very impressed.
I especially like that two individual configurations can be stored and accessed quickly by using the dial. Personally, I have saved a setting for black and white shooting with red filter effect as a "U 1" a setting with Single Area AF and Spot Metering and as "U 2".
My personal highlight of the camera: The virtual horizon. Finally, no more problems during straight-holding the camera, finally a thing of the crooked horizons that were just as troublesome in holiday by the sea or landscape shots, the past. With appropriate key assignment can be a scale in the viewfinder Display showing if you hold the camera straight or she tends in one direction, the Life-View mode allows a virtual horizon on the image set, so it is incredibly easy, to keep the camera straight. Great is that two card slots are available, allowing different settings. I personally save on Map 1 and Map 2 pictures videos, but you can also save as Map 2 a backup or image on card 1 as a RAW file and Map 2 as a JPEG file.
I am of the camera and the pictures that can be do with her, loved it!
