After I have now downloaded here Nightbook Amazon and consulted several times, here's my brief impression of the album. Zwiegespalten! ... The pure piano part I like very much, which was not to be expected. The pieces, where a cello can be heard or the sound subtly synthetic structures in the background have, for example in principo are also good to hear. Curiously, one would but in this subtle use of electronics also quite able to do without it and can re-use a pure piano or the combination with a cello (eg INDACO). The two tracks LADY LABYRINTH and Eros, where the electronics is very much in the center, well ... so I can personally not do anything really. They act, in my view, something out of place on the album. The titular Nightbook thus represents a borderline case and will not be among my favorites, although it seems more interesting from the design of her, as the two negative pieces designated. The highlights of the album for me personally ... both the Snow Preludes. Very nice.
Overall, therefore an ambiguous purchase. Einaudi wants to make sure more than ever just to compose piano solos and playing ... but he can give really good. These various sonic enhancements should remain exceptions.
Still my favorite of his albums and as I read here not only meiner..I GIORNI.
