In seven chapters, Lucia Fernandez delivers all the basic information it is essential to know to learn to knit: Mounting stitches, garter, ball change, stop mesh, everyday items (jersey, ribs, rice points , wheat, checkered, different kinds of twists), how to correct mistakes (removing a row, 4 rows, reassembling a mesh unraveled), decreases and increases with several methods and situation, finishes, edges, buttonhole stitch lift to add a collar for example, 2 techniques to assemble the parts of a knit, stop hiding and son nodes, achieving fringes, sewing an extra-strength, color change in a work for horizontal or vertical stripes, with 2 colors and more, running a pattern.
Throughout the pages of questions and answers are offered, as well as tips, step by step with photos in black and white, the advantages and disadvantages of various methods taught. I have discovered that two caveats to this manual is perfect: there is no bibliography for further and it is not very attractive visually speaking.
But being myself a total neophyte to this, I am excited by the simplicity and clarity of explanation, which is not as easy to find in this kind of works. We can say, this little book is a real mine for the beginner who can thus run without any fear.
