First quick result: The AF focuses on the E-M5 in normal lighting conditions inside and outside more than tidy, a few years ago one would have even referred to him as quickly! For my purposes perfectly adequate. The fact that the lens does not have a real manual, but a manually controlled motorized focus, it can be at the OM-D, like all MFT lenses in the AF + M-mode use, ie only be automatically focus on and then manually without switching, refocus with magnifier if needed. But this is usually not necessary, the lens even comes with the reduced AF the OM-D (firmware 2.0) easily understood.
The image quality gives her what I had hoped secretly, contrast and resolution are absolutely level with the dramatically more expensive MFT zoom Lumix 2.8 / 12-35mm and M.Zuiko 2.8 / 12-40mm, I had both already and from different reasons have yet delivered (price, weight, doubt) again. I personally also comes the slightly longer maximum focal length 54mm or 40mm to 35 benefit. Toll the Minimum focusing distance is at 54mm because I need personally certainly no more macro lens.
But now the "culture shock": The OM-D E-M5 character changes drastically, now the auxiliary handle HLD-6 gives a real sense (both parts). It has at once (almost) a real professional camera in hand. Better still in both hands ... Watch adjusted photo. And the hand strap has now also finally had its day ...
BUT there is for me only times no alternative. For almost half (with adapter) to reach the brightness and image quality, the League of the two not exactly tiny 800-1000 lenses from Olympus and Panasonic! And for everyday life I've still got the super sharp Lumix Pancake Zoom 12-32mm, which transforms the OM-D (of course without auxiliary handle) ruckzuck in a pocket camera the size of a stylus. 1
So I'm going to probably give up with a Weeping and a laughing eye my Fuji X-E1 as a second camera and "limited" forward to the OM-D and the expansion of this system. Being in direct comparison with the otherwise excellent Fuji XF 2.8-4.0 / 18-55mm can be on the X-E1 of restriction no question! Under identical conditions, the OM-D can not only keep up with the X-E1 with its smaller MFT sensor, at maximum aperture at all focal lengths it is in terms of sharpness in front.
